In light of so much interest on the post How we got [kinda] screwed by a garage door repairman, I decided to make an introductory post for Castro Valley. Commentors have said that my posts are not substantial and backed up by good sources. I agree. Therefore, let me give you my impression of the town with substantial backup sources. You may not agree with what I have to say and I would be happy to listen to your retorts – as long is they don’t have the obviously racist tones some of the comments have carried. Shall we?

This weekend was not hectic at all, for once. It really only entailed one thing – installing a garage door opener. This is the same garage door opener that was “fixed” for 70 dollars by some shady Castro Valley “mom and pop” place last weekend. Now, Castro Valley is a terrible town. Don’t even second guess that fact. It’s a small, crappy town trying to retain it’s “upper-middle class morally-upright neighborhood” image in the face of encroachment from ghetto-ass Hayward and political sabotage by the “No Child Left Behind” act, otherwise known as mix the fake ghetto white kids with black kids from the real ghetto.
To a certain extent, it brings me great joy to see Joe Smith – the kid living with two Protestant parents in a loving, $100,000 income home get completely out-hip-hoped by the transfer kid with the grill. Oh yes, a grill. I fear the backlash though – white supremacy has some roots in our little town.
